  • New design Yapo.cl

The Yapo.cl redesign project was challenging. It was designed about 12 years ago and there was not much data on user interaction on the web, so there were months of testing and many proposals to obtain a product with a better interface and navigation.

    Old Yapo.cl

As much as the home and the internal pages of the Yapo website had to be renewed due to accessibility, usability and aesthetic problems, there was no consistency and a design pattern that is related throughout the site, it was also not a mobile-first site because that in many of the internal pages they remained in the desktop version even viewing it from a smartphone.

To define the new site, different types of components were proposed that can enrich the user experience, as well as ending up eliminating some of the components of the old site, such as the map of Chile, as it is an impractical element that can be solved with a more compact and simple one like a dropdown.

The big changes to product listings were mainly focused on the way products are displayed and how they are filtered. In both, a grid system similar to Amazon or Facebook Marketplace is used, and the filter options are in one of the proposals on the left side of the site and in the other it is located just above the products.

In this case, an A/B Test was done in Maze to see the performance of both options, finally the users were much faster using the sticky filters at the top of the site.

Finally we got a new home much more organized and focused on highlighting the 4 most important sections of the site: Marketplace, Cars, Real state and Jobs

Each of the sections mentioned above have their characteristic filters, product cards and range of colors to differentiate one from the other.

We work in an organized way in a design system, thanks to this we manage to create consistency in the structure and colors throughout the site, the buttons and information are displayed in a more orderly way and it is clearer which element can be clicked.
